Changing the World for the Better
Katie Williams, who was named Tennessee Public Fire Educator of the year, and her brilliant beagle Sally make a huge difference in this world we go round on. They teach people ways to having a fighting chance for their lives in cases of fire disasters. They mostly visit elementary schools, home school groups, and YMCA centers. In their routine Sally shows the kids how to stop, drop, and roll, crawl low under smoke, and feel the door for heat to see if there is a fire on the other side of it, while Katie explains the situation and what she is doing. One more trick Sally does is crawling out of the window if it is close to the ground or if it isn’t throwing her toys out the window to let people know she is in the building. They show the differences between matches and toys, which Sally knows the difference between them very well. They both love their jobs being Brentwood firefighters and making a change in peoples lives for the better.
