Little me making a difference
How can I change the world? That is one tough question. I want to make a difference but just not sure how. It seems so hard, yet I see all the people making a difference all the time, some in my life. I’ve noticed how I have too though.
On away trips that are overnight our softball team collects the little shampoo bottles and soaps that people never use in the hotel room, so we can give them to the people who may not be able to afford things like that. Just to help out a little. This is just a small change but can make a tremendous impact on somebody else. We even got that idea from another team, so they too are making a change.
Another thing I do is try to keep people going, determining them not to quit in school and sports. In basketball season I tried and help out my teammates on whatever I could and helping them in school so they could play. If they got discouraged I’d still be there with them pushing them. Who knows maybe it does a little.
Our community is always doing food donations too and I participate in almost every one. I can’t think of one that I haven’t helped out in. Simply giving a box of Macaroni and Cheese can keep someone from starving. How amazing is it to give such a little thing, but impact so much.
Our little LDS church in Wendover makes a big impact on this world with just even simple things. We are always going to some random person’s house and fixing up their yard, giving treats, cards, or just spending time with them letting them know we think about them. The whole church owns farms just to give to the needy and we pay tithing to help people out with money.
That is just a few things that I do to try and make a difference. I’ll think of something really good to do some day to change this crazy, ever-changing world we live in for the better.
